The Politics of Modern Family Life

Dennis House (playwright) is one of the most highly regarded broadcasters in Connecticut. He is an Emmy award-winning journalist with WTNH whose interviews have been picked up by The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and MSNBC, and whose stories have covered everything from the funeral of Pope John Paul II and the O.J. Simpson trial to destructive weather events and presidential inaugurations. Dennis lives in Hartford with his wife Kara and their two children, and in his spare time enjoys coaching football and basketball, playing golf, painting, researching his Italian heritage, and spending time with his family. The Politics of Modern Family Life, written exclusively for Playhouse 44, is his first play.

Dan Carney (director, The Politics of Modern Family Life) taught mythology, drama, and speech from 1964 to 2009 at Northwest Catholic High School. He has directed more than 30 plays and musicals, and worked with several local theater groups between 1965 and 2010, including Simsbury Light Opera, Waterbury Civic Opera, The Mark Twain Masquers, New Britain Repertory, Rosewood Summer Theater, and others. Some of his favorite productions are Man of La Mancha, Oklahoma, A Little Night Music, Carousel, The Mikado, Shenandoah, Company. and Much Ado About Nothing.

Roy Donnelly (Husband) has been in shows around the area since 2009, including Detective Story at the Hole in the Wall Theater. Other comedies and dramas have included Brighton Beach Memoirs, Rear Window, Romeo and Juliet, and Whacked. A Farmington resident, he also performs music, most recently in the annual Ceilidh at Hole In The Wall. He is very excited to be part of this inaugural production with Playhouse 44.

Kim Pereira (Wife, The Politics of Modern Family Life) spent her childhood Saturdays at theater school in New Jersey, though the last time she was on stage was in 10th grade. Kim is an avid Broadway fan and has seen many shows in New York, London, Toronto and at regional theaters. An Avon resident, Kim is an ADHD coach and founder of ADHD Coach CT, LLC. Her proudest role is being mom to two amazing children (who also love theater). She is thrilled to be back on stage.

Aiden Cass (Son) is making his stage debut with Playhouse 44, although he has performed and has done voice-acting as the star of several short student films. He has also become involved in writing short and feature-length screenplays. A resident of Longmeadow, MA, Aiden often visits Boston, where he does the majority of his film work. He is very excited about this opportunity to help create a new theater company.

Lexie Faust (Daughter) is a sophomore BFA musical theatre major at Nazareth University, and is very excited to be working with such a talented cast and crew. Her past stage credits include Rebecca Gibbs in Our Town, Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act, Mrs. White in Clue, and Rusty in Footloose. She thanks her family and friends for their endless support.
